In the Beginning was The Word

The Bible is a human book written by human beings, who were trying to understand who they are and who God is. That is what makes a sacred text. It expresses the human yearning for the divine. It is not itself divine, but a tool for our discovery of the divine.

Whoever we are, whatever our age, we encounter and interpret the biblical story through the lens of our life experiences. We learn from it and grow with it--and when we share our understandings with others, we learn and grow even more.
